About Martin

Celebrant with country charm

Before we kick off this incredible journey together, let me share a little about my own. I want you to know who I am, where I’ve come from, and what you can expect when we work together to create a ceremony that’s all about celebrating your love.

Who is Martin?

Swiss Hotelier, Equine Specialist, Counsellor and Marriage Celebrant

My journey in becoming a wedding celebrant has been far from conventional. It all began with my accreditation as a Swiss Hotelier and training at Le Cordon Bleu in the culinary arts. I have worked in various extraordinary locations around the world, from Europe to New Zealand and back to Australia, taking on diverse roles such as Wedding & Event Coordinator, Boutique Venue Manager, and even Manager of a Hotel that earned its first 1-hat with the Good Food Guide. In the world of Swiss hospitality, the emphasis is on creating flawless, unforgettable experiences and having a knowledge of every facet of the delivery. I have learned that every detail is crucial, whether it involves selecting the perfect wine, revising the event schedule, or ensuring that every guest feels welcomed and appreciated.

My Natural Instincts

As much as I love the world of hospitality, I felt a pull towards the outdoors and a life more connected to the essence of kindness with people through natural horsemanship. This led me to start my own equine business where I traded the hotel lobbies & entertaining heads-of-state for the outdoors. I now have the opportunity to develop my skills in running a micro business that concentrates on the essence of service which in turn is what my training in hospitality is all about.

While life in the countryside was exactly where I wanted to be, I started to miss the human connection and the excitement being part of people’s memorable wedding moments.

Discovering My True Calling

Then came a revelation. Some dear friends of mine announced their engagement, and I was honoured (and a little surprised!) when they asked me to officiate their wedding.  So I researched the role of becoming an Authorised Civil Celebrant and poured my heart and soul into successfully completing the course, learning as much as I could about the role while earning certification from the Attorney Generals Office, a role I’m proud of achieving.  That first experience as their officiant —standing by their side as they shared their vows—sparked something I hadn’t expected. I realised that bringing people together to celebrate was exactly where I was meant to be and where all of my training and experience has led.

Weddings are all about connection, joy, and celebrating what makes a couple’s story unique, and being a celebrant is my way of bringing those stories to life. Every wedding has its own energy, its own rhythm, and that first experience showed me that this was where I could make a real difference.

Setting the Scene for Your Perfect Day

What I’ve learned as a celebrant is that the role goes far beyond the vows. A celebrant sets the tone, making sure every part of the day feels seamless and full of joy. On the big day, you’ll find me doing a bit of everything: making sure the groomsmen are where they need to be – with their shirts tucked in, handing tissues out where needed, and checking in with guests to make sure they feel part of the celebration. My goal is to make sure that everyone, from the happy couple to their family and friends, feels relaxed, connected, and ready to enjoy every moment.

What You Can Expect from Me as Your Celebrant

As your celebrant, I’m here to make sure you live fully in each moment of your wedding day. With a background that spans luxury hospitality and rural farm life, I’m just as comfortable crafting a formal ceremony as I am creating a relaxed and fun celebration. Whatever your vision, I’ll be there to bring it to life.

My mission is simple: to bring warmth, professionalism, and joy to your wedding. I want every single person, from your closest friend to your distant cousin, to feel included and uplifted. Let’s create a day that reflects your journey together, with all the laughter, tears, and unforgettable memories that come with it.

I can’t wait to meet you and start planning a ceremony that feels like, well, you.
